It’s business as usual in Cancun, Mexico where American students are celebrating Spring Break 2023.

US officials asked students not to come to Mexico after the tragic kidnappings on March 3. But spring break revelers ignore the warnings.

Latavia “Tay” McGee, 33, her cousin Shaeed Woodard, 33, and friends Zindell Brown, 28, and Eric Williams were kidnapped by the Gulf drug cartel. McGee and Williams were rescued, but Brown and Woodard were killed.

No one seemed to be worried about the kidnappings earlier this month.

One reveler told a photographer “I feel safer here in Mexico than in the United States!”

He pointed to the Army soldiers walking on the beach with semi-automatic rifles. “You ain’t got nothing to worry about,” he said. “We out here. Come on!”

Meanwhile, hundreds of students descended on Fort Lauderdale Beach for spring break. Airport officials in Tampa are expecting 100,000 visitors a day to flow through the airport.

There was a noticeable police presence along the beach in Fort Lauderdale. Officers on bicycles, buggies and SUVs were seen patrolling the area, according to DailyMail.com Others were seen leading K-9s between sun bathers on the crowded beach.
