When a Detroit police commissioner was caught in a car with a known sex worker, he begged deputies not to arrest him.

Bryan Ferguson handed in his resignation on Thursday after news broke that he was in a car with a female prostitute on Wednesday morning.

Undercover narcotics agents from the Wayne County Sheriff’s Department spotted Ferguson committing a lewd act with the sex worker around 7:15 a.m. on Wednesday.

Ferguson told the deputies he was a police commissioner and asked them if they could “help him out,” according to Capt. Jason Bates.

“At that time, Mr. Bryan Ferguson stepped out, identified himself as a Detroit police commissioner,” Bates told Fox 2 Detroit. “A title or position doesn’t make them above the law.”

Ferguson claimed he didn’t know the woman before she hopped into his truck and “just pulled up right on me.”

“This is rough. This is rough to tell. Because now I’m going to have to have this conversation with my family,” said Ferguson who is married and has a daughter.

Ferguson initially said he was “stepping away” from the Board of Commissioners, but he announced his resignation on Thursday.

The Detroit Police Board of Commissioners did not respond to The NY Post‘s request for comment on Thursday.
