An enraged father grabbed his daughter’s boyfriend and cut off the teen’s dreadlocks with a knife after he caught them together in his apartment, WFMZ reports.
Reginald Hardy was arrested and charged with aggravated assault and making terroristic threats after he caught the 19-year-old man in his apartment with his 17-year-old daughter.
Hardy, 38, punched the teen in the mouth and threatened to shoot him if he tried to run.
“I’m a father and I’m looking out for my daughter. That’s it,” Hardy told 69 News.
Hardy said his daughter moved in with him a few weeks ago. He said she sneaked the 19-year-old into his apartment when he wasn’t at home.
“I just see people running and he locked himself in the bathroom, and then we got into a little scuffle,” said Hardy.
“That might have been the maddest I ever got because I literally just seen red,” said Hardy.
“I think he has the right to do it because a father needs to protect his daughters,” said Jo Boltz, who agreed with Hardy’s actions. “He might have went too far, but at the same time, he might have been protecting his daughter, too,” said Carlos Maldonado, who has a daughter of his own.
