Just one year into his 5-year prison sentence, convicted reality TV star Apollo Nida transferred to a New Jersey prison in anticipation of an early release.
The move came just 2 weeks before another reality TV star, Mendecees Harris, was sentenced to 8 years in prison for his role in running a drug trafficking ring.
Radar Online reports The Federal Bureau of Prisons confirmed that the Real Housewives of Atlanta star was transferred to the minimum security FCI Fort Dix correctional facility in New Jersey.
“He transferred about two weeks ago,” an insider tells Radar.
Apollo is supposedly estranged from his wife, local attorney and fellow Real Housewives of Atlanta cast member Phaedra Parks. The couple have 2 sons together.
Apollo won’t be alone at Fort Dix. He will soon be joined by another reality TV star, Joe Giudice, who was convicted on the same fraud charges as his wife, Teresa Giudice.
According to Radar, Giudice, 43, will begin serving a 41-month prison sentence at Fort Dix in March 2016.
Joe’s sentence will begin one month after Teresa Giudice, 43, is scheduled to be released from a federal prison in February 2016.
A judge allowed the couple to stagger serving their sentences so their children would have at least one parent at home.
