A licensed nurse who injected 8,600 elderly people with saline solution (salt water) instead of mRNA COVID vaccine will not get prison time.
Antje T., a Red Cross nurse, injected thousands of elderly people at a vaccine center in Germany with what she told them was the BioNTech Pfizer vaccine.
The nurse later admitted she used a harmless saltwater solution to inject the patients rather than the vaccine. No adverse effects or deaths have been reported.
The patients were mainly hospital employees, educators and doctors above the age of 70 who were injected with saline between March 5 and April 2021.
The nurse was caught when a co-worker saw her fill six syringes with saline solution instead of mRNA vaccine.
Police said she was able to administer the saline solution undetected, because she was in charge of vaccine and syringe preparation during her shift at the vaccination center.
Blood drawn from some of the people who received saline showed no SARS-CoV-2 spike proteins in their bloodstream. The RNA in COVID vaccines instructs cells to produce spike proteins.
The nurse was found guilty on six of 15 counts of intentional assault by Oldenburg District Court, Lower Saxony state, on November 30. The other nine counts were dropped.
The court sentenced her to just six months probation and no prison time, according to DailyMail.com.
The court noted that the 39-year-old nurse criticized the Covid-19 vaccines in several social media posts. But the court couldn’t say that her anti-vaccine stance was the motive for her actions.
She was fired from the vaccine center and her nursing license was revoked.
State authorities urged the patients to register for revaccination and emphasized that the vaccine is completely safe.
