I was so happy to read on my Twitter timeline that legendary female emcee Queen Latifah finally came stumbling out of the closet in her own inimitable way! Too bad I missed that epic milestone moment in her life. And how precious was it that she referred to her longtime companion, Jeanette Jenkins, as “fine”?

Everyone and their grandmother complained about Nicki Minaj lip syncing during both of her performances last night. But those same people had nothing but good things to say about Chris Brown, who did the same thing!

Alicia Keys theatrics was nothing more than a sad attempt to cover up for the fact that she was singing off key.

I saved my favorite tweets for Trey Songz’s horrible rendition of the Prince classic, “Purple Rain”. His “singing” was appalling — second only to Chris Brown’s croaking. Did anybody even bother to rehearse for the show?

I don’t know if I am the only one that has noticed but if you go back and look at ANY show Nicki has done on youtube, she has NEVER had a stage presence.

She walks on the stage with her hand on her hip and makes faces, talks on stage; part way lip syncs the song and then asks for her sharpie to sign boobs, that’s when all the hoopla starts.

When I saw Trey performing I said quit playing you ain’t Prince. He can sing but he wasn’t doing that song any justice. I thought he was the only one doing a tribute to Prince boy I was glad I was wrong. I hate that ugly wig on Keysha, it looks a big old mess. I was scared that Alicia was going to deliver her baby on live tv doing all of that rolling around on the piano. It was an interesting performance though but better to be done by a non-pregnant woman. Rick Ross did seem to have lost some weight. Janelle Morae was different (which is good) but is she too different….mmmm.

Yeah it’s called a backing track, almost all artists do it. They sing along/with the track – it’s not back in the day when they actually sang live with just the beat. I hate how they do that because it’s takes from the performance. Alicia Keys is someone who doesn’t do this much-most of the time it’s actually really her singer and not her already recorded vocals.

I agree but Diddy is more concerned about the dance part of his performance. Some artists are just sloppy and lazy which is why most music sucks today. Diddy ALWAYS lip syncs his performances because he is usually trying to dance at the same time and he sucks at both so he has to pick one. You can dance sync. LOL.

As much as I dislike Nicki, she was NOT lip syncing. The BET Awards ’10 was really unorganized and the sound crew turned her mic down. They said when it re-airs it will be fixed. Nicki has no reason to lip sync when what she does is not hard at all.

I agree but Diddy is more concerned about the dance part of his performance. Some artists are just sloppy and lazy which is why most music sucks today. so hmmm Nicki’s mic was broken BOTH times and her mic was the only one broken??? true, they had some audio difficulties (i.e. usher) but you could still hear them. anywhoooo~i enjoyed el debarge’s performance. he still sounds the same. unlike whitney, his crack must have been high quality ’cause it didn’t bother his vocals. CB did well. i think his performance was sincere. just last year he was ostracized and couldn’t perform. he would have made the tribute waaaaaaaaay better. i wonder did Kanye get in trouble for defying his illuminati leaders by performing???? and yes, his mic was messed up too but he kept going on!

I think everybody did good and I don’t usually say that. These type of awards are hard to please. I loved the choreography in diddy’s performance. It was put together pretty good. I vaguely could hear Nicki rapping. The track was just louder and her mic seemed to not have any reception.

Funny nobody mentions Monicas, Usher’s, and Kanye’s performances.

People keep clowning trey for that performance which I think was decent and he is going to go back to that forceful sexing on stage thing and kissing random groupies like hes been doing lately. Im glad he reverted from all that.
