With seven months to go until the November midterm elections, the Democrats lifted their glasses of champagne toasting the passage of a bill that will end up crippling the economy. The celebrations in Washington DC lasted well into the early morning hours following the historic passage of the health care bill.

But this morning, many Democrats awoke to the sobering reality of what will take place seven months from now — when the American people make their voices heard at the polls. Political analysts predict a bloodbath at the polls as Democrats fall in record numbers, resulting in a majority Republican Congress making Obama a lame duck, one term president.

“Democrats are afraid of failure and nervous about what success could bring,” The Washington Post’s Dan Balz wrote Sunday.

Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz., to George Stephanopoulos on “GMA”: “With all this euphoria that’s going on, this inside-the-Beltway champagne toasting and all that, outside the Beltway the American people are very angry. And they don’t like it, and we’re going to try to repeal this, and we’re going to have a very spirited campaign between now and November, and there will be a very heavy price to pay for it.”

Barack Obama, the narcissist, wanted more than anything to make history (again), and he has done that, but at a heavy price. In the coming days, Obama plans several trips to convince angry Americans why his bill will benefit them. But the outcome of the upcoming November elections will define his political future.

And health care is still not free for all.
