This is one of Myra Pinache's infamous Blind Items. I'm usually good at guessing some of these Blind Items but this one has me stumped. I have NO clue who this Blind Item could be about.
Earlier today, rap mogul Jay Z explained the inspiration behind his upcoming CD Magna Carta Holy Grail. The 45-year-old rapper whose real name is Shawn Knowles-Carter, says the album's tracks were influenced by his father leaving him as a boy. Carter said the track "Jay-Z Blue" was inspired by his own childhood experience, plus the experience of being a father to his daughter Blue Ivy, who was born in 2012. "It deals with my pop leaving when I was young. He didn't teach me how to be a man nor how to raise a child, or treat a woman. And I have a daughter. It's the paranoia of not being a great dad."
In the wake of this week's Supreme Court's ruling on the Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA) and California's ban on gay marriage, the New Yorker magazine thought it would be cute to feature Sesame Street's Bert and Ernie as a gay couple on its same-sex cover.
The cover features silhouettes of the iconic puppets cuddling on a sofa while watching coverage of the SCOTUS decision on television.
The sports world is buzzing today about the dismantling of the NBA's Boston Celtics. The team's stars Kevin Garnett and Paul Pierce were traded to the Brooklyn Nets, while their coach Doc Rivers is heading to the Los Angeles Clippers.
ESPN's Bill Simmons took Rivers' departure unusually hard during a mini meltdown on ESPN's live coverage of the NBA draft.
"I would like to call him a idiot but I'm too classy for that, said Rivers, responding to Simmons' comment that Rivers "quit" on the Celtics.
The last time I checked, this was still a free country where a coach has the freedom to accept a $21 million contract to take his talents to another team.
Boston police and federal authorities have identified a 3rd suspect wanted in the murder of semi-pro football player Odin Lloyd, 27. Ernest Wallace, aka "Bo Fish," is wanted for accessory after murder.
Wallace, whose age is listed as 41 and 44, is believed to be one of two men who was with former New England Patriot Aaron Hernandez the night Lloyd was killed.
Hernandez, 23, is being held without bond on first degree murder and weapons charges. A second accomplice, Carlos A. Ortiz, 23, was arrested near Bristol, Conn., earlier this week. Bristol is the hometown of Hernandez.
Ortiz has agreed to be extradited from Connecticut, according to Deadspin.com. He is being held on a $1.5 million bond.
Last year the timepiece of choice for the hip hop set was Audemars Piguet (because rappers like Jay Z favor the brand). This year, the timepiece of choice seems to be the legendary Rolex. So much so that jewelers can't keep the pricey watches in stock.
Rapper Rick Ross has always had a taste for finer things since the days when he punched a clock as a corrections officer in Florida. But a jeweler is suing Ross for absconding with about $90,000 worth of Rolexes that he didn't pay for. Read on.
As Twitter and other social media proves, most people are followers. They are easily influenced by celebrities and other notables who give them cues on everything from the latest trends to what type of women to date. Last year's craze, popularized and spread rapidly through social media, were 'Planking' and 'Tebowing.' Thank God those trends phased out.
The arrest of former New England Patriot Aaron Hernandez has launched a new trend called 'Hernandezing' -- or wearing your t-shirt over your arms which are positioned behind your back.
Sports Grid has the details after the break.
Like most narcissists, singer Beyonce knows how to get our attention. The "Grown Woman" singer published a new photo of her daughter Blue Ivy wearing a crown on her head. The crown, which is custom made to fit the child's head, is a symbol of Beyonce's overinflated sense of superiority projected onto her innocent daughter. Beyonce, whose parents treated her like a gilded object to be put on display, is doing the same to her daughter. There is no doubt that Blue Ivy will grow up to be a narcissist like her mother and father; but by the time she's grown, society at large will be 90% narcissistic. So it may not be such a bad thing.
