Simone Biles is keeping a low profile after her brother’s arrest on murder charges. Biles’ boyfriend, Stacey Ervin Jr., posted an inspirational message about his sweetheart’s family tragedy.
Biles’ brother, Tevin Biles-Thomas, 24, was arrested and charged with murder in connection with a triple homicide at an AirBnB party in Cleveland eight months ago. He is being held in a Florida jail without bond while awaiting extradition back to Ohio.
Biles-Thomas is accused of killing three people after a fight broke out at a party in a $155 per night AirBnB apartment above a pizza parlor in January.
Biles-Thomas was arrested on Thursday at Fort Stewart in Georgia, where he was on active duty with the U.S. Army.
Biles’ boyfriend, Ervin Jr., is featured very prominently in numerous photos on her Instagram account.
He spoke out about the family tragedy in an IG post on Friday.
“The strongest people I’ve ever met have not been given an easier life,” he wrote. “They’ve learned to create strength and happiness from dark places.”
Biles, who is on tour, posted the above image which she captioned, “Missing you a lil extra today,” to which Ervin, a gymnast turned pro wrestler, replied, “I miss you too babe I’ll see you very soon!”
