Singer Brian McKnight filed a lawsuit against R&B-singer-turned influencer Jaguar Wright for defamation of character. The R&B crooner accuses Jaguar of defaming him by claiming he abused his ex-wife and several prostitutes.
According to the lawsuit, obtained by TMZ, Brian says Jaguar went on social media and alleged he hired prostitutes and physically abused them during sexual encounters.

Additionally, Brian accused Jaguar of saying he was an abusive husband to his ex-wife Julie McKnight, who Jaguar claims is her cousin. Brian says he never abused his ex-wife and had no idea that she was related to Jaguar.

Brian said Jaguar knew she was lying about him but went on to smear his character anyway. The legal definition of defamation and slander is knowingly lying about a person’s character in print or verbally. But the plaintiff has to show damages that occurred as a result of the defamation – such as a loss of job or wages.

Jaguar also spun lies about Jay-Z Carter and his long-suffering wife, Beyoncé, during an appearance on Piers Morgan‘s talk show last year. Piers was forced to apologize to the Carters for airing the interview after the Carters allegedly sent a cease & desist and threatened to sue him.
