First lady Michelle Obama is not surprised that the haters came for her after she made a surprise appearance at the 85th Annual Academy Awards.
The response to Mrs. Obama’s surprise Oscar appearance (to present the Best Picture award) was swift and hateful.
Fox News host Bill O’Reilly described Michelle Obama’s appearance at the Oscars as ”propaganda to make [the Obamas look] glamorous.” O’Reilly added: “Laura Bush would never at any time have introduced any award.”
In an interview with the Associated Press, Mrs. Obama said. “Shoot, my bangs set off a national conversation. My shoes can set off a national conversation. That’s just sort of where we are.
“We’ve got a lot of talking going on,” the first lady said. “It’s like everybody’s kitchen-table conversation is now accessible to everybody else so there’s a national conversation about anything.”
