Blogger Learns the Hard Way: Don’t Mess With Mariah’s Music

30

UPDATED: Now that “Touch My Body” has officially premiered on that Chicago radio station, here’s the link to the song.

Most hard core Mariah fans know that her first single “Touch My Body” off her upcoming album (renamed) E=MC², will debut today on a Chicago radio station between 4 and 5 PM.

But yesterday, a popular blogger got his hands on a snippet of the track and uploaded it to his Blogspot-hosted blog. Big mistake. Once the powers that be over at Mariah’s label found out about the unauthorized leak, the skies opened up and rained down on the poor blogger’s head.

The next thing the hapless blogger knew, his popular blog was deleted by Blogger.com. And just like that, all of his content, photos and advertisements were gone faster than you could say “Glitter flopped hard”.

Of course, as often happens when Blogger.com mistakenly – or deliberately – deletes a blog, some a-hole who was lying in wait for the name to become available – claimed the URL and is now pretending to be the blog owner and redirecting his traffic to another website.

Bloggers beware that if you host your popular blog for free on Blogger.com, your blog can be deleted without warning or, in this case, with warning.

Now all that’s left for the poor blog owner to do is appeal to Blogger.com to get his URL back – which isn’t likely to happen. In the meantime, I’m loving Mariah’s new track and I just might post a link to it since the weather forecast is calling for clear skies and zero percent chance of rain. 🙂

Video: Nas N*gger Commercial

49

In the early 90s, Nas garnered major buzz as the second coming of the God MC Rakim. His thought-provoking rhymes and intense delivery put him in a class by himself at a time when the Internets was in its infancy. Hip Hop magazine editors tripped over themselves trying to find the words to describe Nas’ critically acclaimed debut album Illmatic. I guess you could say the world was his.

Then Nas opened his trap and stuck his big foot in it by suddenly announcing he was an atheist. He made sure to bring up his atheist views during every interview he gave while promoting Illmatic. He even debated journalists on the existence of God. For a boy who thought he was smarter than the company he kept – the atheist ploy backfired on him.

Most of you don’t remember Nas’ “atheist” days because he quickly abandoned that soapbox when Illmatic was released and flopped like a fish out of water. Since then, Nas’ entire career has been based on gimmicks and shock wordplay – classic signs of a man with zero confidence in himself and his abilities.

I won’t waste my time going on about the current Nas self-flagellation that will end up destroying his already fading rap career. But I did get a chuckle out of this commercial which is intended to poke fun at Nas’ current desperation grab for publicity.

Lenny Kravitz hospitalized in Miami

28

Sexy singer/songwriter Lenny Kravitz is in a Miami, Florida hospital this morning diagnosed with what doctors say is a “severe” case of bronchitis. Bronchitis occurs when the upper airways becomes inflamed and obstructed by thick mucus that the patient is unable to clear by coughing.

Friends say Kravitz has suffered with respiratory tract infections since mid-January.

“Due to extreme dehydration and fatigue, doctors were unable to control it with outpatient treatment and advised the singer to check into the hospital. He was taken this morning to the emergency room at Mount Sinai Hospital in Miami for immediate treatment,” the spokeswoman said in a statement.Details on his condition and expected length of stay were not immediately available.

His illness forced him to postpone a trip to Europe to promote his album “It Is Time For a Love Revolution,” which was released last week.

Kravitz, famed for his hippie-influenced lyrics, rose to fame in the 1990s with such tunes as “Are You Gonna Go My Way” and the Grammy-winning “Fly Away.”

Rihanna and Jay Z: A Picture Speaks a thousand words

54

This photo of Jay Z and Rihanna taken at the LA Reid Grammy after party on Sunday, speaks a thousand words. Let me tell you a little something about islanders: you do not embarrass them in front of mixed company – meaning, non-family members.

Island people are very noble and proud people – but they won’t hesitate to take you to the side and tear your ass out the frame for disrespecting them. What Jay Z did by “translating” for Rihanna while she was thanking her father in front of millions – was totally disrespectful. I’m sure Rihanna let Jay Z know just how she felt about his miserable attempt at a joke at her expense.

Yesterday I made the statement that some women in our community are messy for applying the wrong meaning to the hug given to Jay Z by Rihanna when she won her Grammy. The fact that most women missed the boat on the Jay Z spectacle on stage – and instead chose to gossip about a friendly hug, proves the mentality of most women in our culture.

It’s why women are our own worst enemies – and why most women who have achieved a certain level of success eliminate their messy female friends from their lives. Once again, the scandal was not in the hug, the true scandal was in the disgraceful way that Jay Z (a grown man who should have known better) disrespected a 19-year-old woman on national TV.

Thanks to loyal reader Michelle for the pic!

Video: Rihanna accepting her Grammy for Umbrella

What is the big deal about the friendly hug Rihanna gave Jay Z before pulling him onstage to accept her Grammy? That hug was an innocent one between a protege and her mentor. According to close associates, Jay Z is like a big brother to Rihanna. Give it up already! So what if she gave him a hug? As you can see from this video, he extended his arms to her and she gave him a hug because he was a big reason for her winning. But leave it to messy women to make something out of nothing.

The Good, the Bad and the Ugly moments from the 2008 Grammys

Photos: Wireimage/Getty

Yes, I know I’m very late with this, but Life happens in between blogging. Since everyone else has their Good, Bad & Ugly lists from the 2008 Grammys, I decided to post mine. Obviously at the very top of my Ugly list are that nigger couple Nas and Kelis. No, I don’t like referring to any sista or brotha by that term, but their desperate need for attention is appalling and they are a disgrace to the black race. I have lost complete respect for those niggers.

So here are my Good, Bad & Ugly lists from this year’s Grammys:

The Good

  • Beyonce holding her own with miss Tina Turner. This performance officially signaled the end of Beyonce’s reign in the music industry

  • Usher didn’t perform
  • Britney spears didn’t perform or show up
  • Soulja Boy Tell ’em didn’t perform
  • Solange didn’t perform

  • Rap-rocker Kid Rock’s duet with singer Keely Smith
  • Amy Winehouse made it all the way through her set without stumbling or forgetting her words

  • Amy Winehouse’s shocked reaction upon winning record of the year. Priceless!
  • Ne-yo winning a Grammy for contemporary r&b album of the year
  • Barack Obama winning a Grammy in the spoken word category
  • Rihanna hitting us with the unique one-of-a-kind ostrich feather dress
  • Tina turner not needing the paramedics who were standing by with oxygen tanks during her duet with Beyonce
  • The tribute to Pimp C, Ike Turner and other notables who are no longer with us

Audio: Keyshia Cole snippet

Over the weekend I received emails from a few readers asking for audio of the phone call between myself, Keyshia Cole and her man Young Jeezy. Some people (not my regular readers) doubt the validity of the phone call. I don’t normally record my phone calls unless a celebrity wants to make a statement – then I record it for accuracy.

So I’m posting a tiny snippet of the 19 minute phone conversation for those doubters who still don’t believe Keyshia and Young Jeezy are a couple. On the snippet, Jeezy and Keyshia deny that he said they were not together. Please excuse the audio’s very low quality (I’m not a journalist).
