Rapper Ludacris recently returned to his old high school where he had been banned by the school principal. Luda was honored by Banneker High School which named its gymnasium after him. Luda was joined by singer and cousin Monica, and rapper Killer Mike who together planted three “trees of life” on the school’s front lawn.

If you ever get the chance to hear Killer Mike speak you should go. I heard him speak once and I was blown away! He’s a very intelligent brotha! Anyway, congrats to Luda.

Yesterday, a couple of my readers (yes, just a couple) asked me why I didn’t write a post about the book Hiding in Hip Hop written by a former MTV staffer name Terrence Dean.

Well, the reason why I haven’t mentioned it until today is because I’m not interested in a book full of blind items and sexual fantasies.

Most of you know I have no love for downlow fags men. IMO, they are the lowest living organisms on earth - even lower than a virus.

They lie better than a rug and they are the number one reason why black women have the highest incidence of HIV/AIDS infections (that, plus the fact that black women couldn’t spot a gay brother if he had I’M GAY tattooed on his forehead).

If Karrine Steffans could write a tell all book naming the biggest names in hip hop then surely this Terence Dean character could name one name. What’s he afraid of? You can’t be sued for telling the truth. I mean how hard is it to drop a name like Lil’ Zane, Joe Budden or Jay Z? I’m just asking.

A concerned mother spoke with Channel 2 Actions News’ Monica Pearson yesterday about her daughter’s struggle with mental illness.

Elaine Sabree spoke exclusively with Pearson about her daughter Nafiza Ziyad, 25, who was arrested after a MARTA passenger videotaped her verbally assaulting an elderly passenger.

After an extensive investigation, MARTA police located Ziyad on May 8 in the Fulton County jail where she was detained on unrelated charges. Ziyad is currently being held in the DeKalb County jail.

Sabree told Pearson her daughter was diagnosed with bipolar disorder 3 years ago. But Ziyad had been off her medication for some time prior to the incident on the train. “I was shocked,” said Sabree who told Pearson that her daughter was off her medication because, “She didn’t believe she was bipolar.”

The elderly MARTA passenger was identified as Mary Freeman, the mother of Morehouse head football coach Richard Freeman. Mr. Freeman said his mother was never angry with Ziyad because she knew the young woman was “troubled”. He also said the family would not press charges.
