MJ’s Doc Officially charged With Involuntary Manslaughter

Dr. Conrad Murray has officially been charged with involuntary manslaughter in the death of legendary pop singer Michael Jackson. It took this long to bring Murray to justice because the DA’s office doesn’t have much of a case against him.

The DA’s office will have to prove that Murray — even involuntarily — caused the death of Jackson by plying him with the sedative/anesthetic Propofol and other prescription drugs. But the coroner’s report doesn’t support that charge since Jackson frequently self-medicated with a personal pharmacy stash of drugs. Any of those drugs in his body in any combination could have killed him.

According to the criminal complaint, the D.A. alleges Dr. Murray “did unlawfully, and without malice, kill Michael Joseph Jackson … in the commission of an unlawful act, not a felony; and in the commission of a lawful act which might have produced death, in an unlawful manner, and without due caution and circumspection.”

Dr. Murray will be arraigned today at 1:30 PM. As we first reported, he will plead not guilty.

Dr. Murray is expected to show up at around 1:00 PM, accompanied by his lawyers and a bail bondsman. Bail should be set at $25,000.

Dr. Murray administered Propofol to Jackson just before he died, and the L.A. County Coroner’s Office has determined Jackson died as a result of acute Propofol intoxication.

If convicted, Dr. Murray faces a maximum of four years in prison.

Hard Times Push More Women To Strip

Dancer Simone Neal applies makeup before performing at the Magic City club in Atlanta. These days, “The regulars aren’t so regular,” said Neal, 27, who drives from Florida to dance here. “I have to watch my money more closely now.”

From AJC:

She’s stunning, even in sweats. But Leilani Burkhead’s got her work cut out for her. It’s 9 p.m. on a weeknight, time to hit the stage at Atlanta’s Magic City strip club.

She slips out of her sweats and half-jokingly mumbles something about getting geared up to work the room.

It’s an about-face from a few years ago when money rained down on dancers at this and other Atlanta adult-entertainment clubs like free-flowing Dom Perignon. Like the rest of the economy, adult dance clubs feel the pinch. The sluggish economy and closer police scrutiny have put about a dozen out of business in the past decade. And the regular patrons aren’t so regular anymore.

But that hasn’t slowed the would-be dancers lining up to apply for the $350 permit to work in the city’s 19 clubs, Atlanta police say. Among the usual aspiring actresses and dancers, there are more college students, single mothers trailing toddlers, health and office professionals and even a few age-defying grandmothers — all looking for well-paid work in a city with unemployment above 10 percent.

“We have them coming in daily looking for work,” says Michael “Lil Magic” Barney Jr., the 28-year-old general manager of Magic City, a downtown Atlanta fixture founded by his father.

For Simone Neal, another Magic City dancer, club work is her ticket to becoming the first in her family to go to college. Essentially working as an independent contractor, she estimates she earns $50,000 after paying a nightly fee to the club and tips to DJs and the house mother.

“I love to dance,” said Neal, a petite 27-year-old who drives four hours from Florida to dance in Atlanta. “I thank God for everything I make.” Read More…

Magic City dancer Leilani Burkhead (seated) talks to another dancer in the lounge and dressing area. Burkhead, a single mother with a day job at an orthodontist’s office, works here to pay bills including her 9-year-old son’s school tuition. “I didn’t want to dance, but you’ve got to do what you have to do,” she said. Atlanta police report a rise in applications for the $350 permits required for strippers.

Magic City dancer Brook Lynn has a book deal and is busy preparing for the release of her paperbook novel “With Brook Lynne in Mind”. In between twirling on the pole for her regular customers on Magic City’s busiest nights, she promotes her book on Twitter while raising her son. Brook’s boyfriend, a popular local DJ and music producer, has no problems with his girlfriend dancing for ballers.

Celebs Out & About: Reggie Bush & Kim Kardashian

Yesterday, Saints RB Reggie Bush was heckled by Colts fans after the Saints won the Super Bowl at Sun Life Stadium in Davie, Florida. An obnoxious Colts fan asked Bush, “hey Reggie, who’s in your house?!” No doubt, the fan was referring to this video of Reggie’s jump off giving a tour of Reggie’s digs while he was away at the Super Bowl — with his longtime love Kim Kardashian.

Kim, who no doubt has heard the rumors that Reggie is still tapping Carmen Ortega, urged him to calm down and ignore the haters just as she’s doing.

Rumor has it that Kim dumped Reggie last year because of those very same rumors. Well, boys will be boys!

More after the break!

Celebs Out & About: Chris Brown and Trey Song

When I spotted this pic on another blog, it took me a second to recognize Trey Song at a pool party in Miami with convicted woman beater Chris Brown. Doesn’t it look like Trey is trying to hide his face from the photogs? I wonder why?

Celebs Out & About: Vivica A. Fox and Slimm at the Super Bowl

Don’t believe the rumors that reality TV personality Eva Pigford and her actor beau Lance Gross broke up. It seems that any time a psuudo celebrity wants to get a little shine without paying a grip to a publicist, they just take to Twitter and post some dumb ish that they know their gullible fans will eat up. Then they lie and say their Twitter was hacked. Fools fall for it every time!

Eva did just that this weekend because she found that she was not in high demand at Super Bowl parties this weekend in Miami. In fact, word is, Lance was getting more attention at the functions than she was. So she left Miami in a huff and wrote this tweet back in L.A.:

Now she’s trying to play dumb like she had no idea of the confusion her previous tweet would cause. Don’t you hate attention seeking sluts like her?

Well, as you can see from the above pics, it was all love between the two and actress Vivica A. Fox who is on her way to Italy to film her new movie (and, yes, she’s taking Slimm with her).

Vivica A. Fox partied with her man Slimm, left, who promoted parties in Miami, and singer/producer The Dream.

OBAMA FAIL: Obama Paid $2.5M For This Super Bowl Ad (Your Hard Earned Tax Dollars At Work)

All last week I heard about the $2.5 MILLION that the Obama administration paid for a Super Bowl commercial. The ad was for the Census bureau. I couldn’t wait to see the ad to see what all the fuss was about. Well, here it is — all 30 seconds of it.

The $2.5 million was just for the ad space in the Super Bowl and was not included in the loot they spent to make this piece of crap. Don’t you love how your president spends money like it was water? By the way, the $2.5 million comes out of your taxes in case you’re wondering.
