White Writer Calls Beyonce ‘A Sell Out To Her People’

As you know, former Destiny’s Child singer Beyonce, made history when she won 6 Grammy’s last weekend. But the next day, all the media could talk about was Taylor Swift’s 4 Grammy wins which prompted Bey’s sister Solange to go on a Twitter rant criticizing the media.

Well, one media outlet struck back, although not directly at Solange.

An Irish journalist referred to Beyonce as a “sell out to her people” in an article published today. The writer for the Irish Independent, who describes himself as “a white, 30-something Irish bloke,” wrote, “in fairness, some of her songs are infuriatingly catchy, [but] let’s get real — we’re not exactly talking about Ella Fitzgerald here.”

Ouch!

It’s been apparent for some time now that Beyonce’s star is fading. Bey’s camp began feeling the heat as more and more mainstream blogs called for her to step away from the light. Beyonce seemed to concede to their demands when she announced she would take a break from the industry last month. But we’re still waiting for her to leave.

She is a VERY hardworking woman and has been in the game for over a decade and has remained ontop without getting knocked down by NO ONE. Give credit where credit is due, as long as she is around people WILL know her name.

 I too want to know what a sell out is, is it because her music is main stream and not just for black ppl. How many artist have to cross over in order to sell records? When Shania Twain first came out she was only country, she crossed over and it only helped her career.

Are they serious. Sandra, we all know you do not like the girl…but lets be real. No one can touch her right now. Not Alicia, Not Rihanna, Not ANYONE. God blessed her with a talent, so why not let her use it. Her songs are catchy. Her songs are fun…but atleast she is not singing about “bitches and hoes” like a lot of these so called rappers and singers a lot of you support. I say, good for her. It is good to see a Black Woman that came from Houston, TX become a household name. Not only is she talented, but she is a smart business woman. I am so tired of the bashing. I tell ya, the more successful you become, the more people try to bring you down. So sad!

Sell out. NO. I dont think she is a sell out but for someone who started out with a heavy R&B based CD (DANGEROUSLY IN LOVE) and did a 180 spin and now soley focuses on pop-ish records she has claimed her position.

I think she feltif she kept up the r&b style she would never have ‘world domination’

Synopsis: He (a white guy from Ireland) is saying that Beyonce is a sellout because a Black woman (not sure of her nationality) said what I quoted above…in #21.

It’s another Black woman blaming another Black woman for her self-esteem issues.

Honestly, I thought the guy was being funny…he also said,”So y’know those Destiny’s Child and Beyonce albums you have at home? Run home and throw them all out. Otherwise, you’re simply supporting the actions of a race traitor — and you wouldn’t want that, would you?”

Beyonce is not checking for black people… when have you EVER seen her be a spokesperson for anything black owned, operated or supported, BESIDES HER OWN BRAND? What about that infamous Loreal advertisement, and the Dereon ad with the 3 little girls, the darkest one all the way in the back. I won’t even mention that long silky straight blond lace front. NEWSFLASH – BLACK PEOPLE DON’T AND WON’T EVER HAVE LONG SILKY STRAIGHT BLOND HAIR. Unless they buy it. She does not do anything to encourage women, period. Entertainer or not, she know it is inappropriate to be grinding on the floor with her legs spread apart, and cnotradicting by saying put a ring on it – why would he, when he can get the milk free, cow?

Seriously, do you really think Beyonce is doing what she does to appease to black people? Y’all like that ****? Y’all usel Loreal and hair bleach and carry Samatha Thawhater bags? That girl worships, honors and praises her white master and does everything they tell her.

I am a huge (I mean huge; I mean I’m going to buy “Heat”, huge ) Beyonce fan but Fu.ck Beyonce when it comes to me and mine and who we will become! I don’t need her to validate me or my daughters. That’s my fu.ck.ing job. If everybody FOCUSED ON THEIR JOB LIKE BEYONCE’S AS.S OBVIOUSLY DOES WE WOULDNT NEED TO WORRY ABOUT WHAT IMAGE OUR KIDS ARE SEEING BECAUSE THEIR VISION WOULD ALREADY HAVE BEEN SHAPED BY THEIR PARENTS.

First of all–I want to add the old saying” TO WHOM MUCH IS GIVEN, MUCH IS EXPECTED. When someone has such a big influence like a lot of these celebs, it is there job to be careful how they influence…Now when there are 5th grade girls killing themselves bcuz they think they need to look like Bey in order to be pretty..Who do we blame..The parents? Bey, Rhi, are everywhere we cant block our kids from seeing it, every store magazine in the FRONT, commercials, awards, talk shows, sesame street, cartoons cereal boxes, walmart advertisements, billboards,c etc…

The parents play a big part but the influence of a little girsl favorite singer is something major…And nowadays little kids are getting depresses and committing suidice becuz the feel defeated when trying to mimick the celebs. It is saturating the schools and even the teachers make references to Bey and Rhi..

  84. 84
    Itsnotboutme says:

My point is Bey shoudl be living up to her responsibility of having so much influence..Lil wayne, Jay, Hanna Rhi, all ofem. That is the fine print that the celebs dont read. When GOD blesses you with that type of power, it is not to be taken for granted..GOD IS behind every good thing to happen in everyones life…even the unbelievers..There will major consequences for these foolish celebs.. sooner or later…I dont see a happy ending for Beyonce..sorry!

She’s a talented girl, and I wish her well. I would never say she has no talent, cause the girl can sing. At the end of the day, all of this is MY OPINION! Everyone has one! Who would’ve thought when she was on Star Search that she would rise to such success. After watching, “Beyonce Revealed,” I gained a new level of respect for her even though her music isn’t always to my liking (I like more of her old school music).

Never satisfied. Despite how the media is praising Taylor, she deserved it, cause she is JUST NOW winning Grammys. So it was a big night for her to win 4 the first night around. some people want to see OTHERS succeed as they have already seen YOU successful. Nobody is telling the gurl to drop off the face of the earth, but if people even your own fans are telling you they would like to see less of you and be allowed a moment to get that “feeling back” its not about DOWNING you for being so GREAT, its simply asking you to GIVE IT A REST for a little while, because im starting to hesitate listening to your song on the radio, or im starting to turn the chanel when you perform, or i didn’t even attend one of your concerts this year….why would someone in her position take offense to that, appreciate people who want you to go out on top from start to finish instead of let you MILK YOUR CAREER DRY LIKE RHIANNA’S ROOTS before you turn 35??!! Beyonce has all the elements of longevity, you gon give that up to prove what, that you can run this game for however long YOUR FANS WILL ALLOW YOU TO….don’t wait until they stop participating, and encouraging you….?? Take some time off, and come back even harder and you’ll probably GAIN an even broader fan base…and sell 500 – 800 thousand copies of your LP in a week or even a MILLION?!!…. For her to be as big as she is her CDs don’t move the type of numbers you would expect and its due to oversaturation (Had to take your word Free) Even Michael Jackson turned down jobs/performances because he didn’t want to be overexposed….and he was the BIGGEST BLACK STAR THAT EVER LIVED AND DIED.

I just can’t understand why ppl go so hard against Bey. You’re (not you specifically, in general) tired of seeing her? Don’t look. Don’t like her music? Don’t listen. Go BUY what you do like so you can knock her ass off the throne. She’s on the throne cause her fans are downloading/buying/going-bat-sh.it crazy ‘bout her…IRL (off the net), you’d be hard pressed to find this level of Beyonce hate. I recently met a girl who is a fan and I was saying, “isn’t it a shame how no one likes Bey anymore?” She was like, “WTFyoutalkingboutbish?!?!” She had no idea. She was blown away by the Illuminati talk, the marriage stuff, the age issue…come to think of it, I mightve crushed her

ITs hard to understand because, the people you think are haters are really fans gon NUMB to everything she does…I like Beyonce, used to love her to death when she got regular promo, and worked hard, and earned every performance (instead of being forced infront of us to sing Santa maria or whatever as a tribute to who hun? not MJ) She was the underdog and we wanted to see her on top, because even though we loved Destiny’s child we were Crazy In Love after she dropped that first solo CD! Then it went from harmless heavy rotation to heavy rotation of shyt we didn’t even like for example “Deja Vu” I know I ain the only one who didn’t get why she dropped that as a lead single at ALL…and I got tired of hearing it—but I hung in there, saw her MURDER a “Deja Vu” performance on BET, and I was back to digging her mission…didn’t like the album, but I brought it in support anyway (cuz she’s a fellow virgo too!) Then she dropped videos for every song, performed at every award show even though her album had dropped a YEAR ago, she kept revising the songs, rereleasing the LP, I guess to make up the so so sales…and thats when she started to lose value…they did this the ENTIRE TIME for at LEAST 2 years before she dropped “I am Sasha Fierce”…..so we’re back to excessive record play with SINGLE LADIES….and the same ol repeat strategy….I miss the music I used to love hear her sing but when she drop and I get my hopes up….I get forced to listen to something I can’t STAND?? I want her to chill and I want her to support her again! #noshade truthfully.

You cant speak on what a song will mean to other people 20 years from now. I know when I am old I will be acting ignant at the family reunion if “Get me bodied” comes on.
