It didn’t take an Orange County jury long to decide a man accused of abusing a 7-year-old boy he was mentoring wasn’t guilty.
Devery Broox was charged with child abuse for allegedly shaving the boys head and eyebrows and hitting him with a belt in a YouTube video.
After the boy’s head was shaved, Broox walked the child into another room and investigators say he chose to take a belt to the boy off camera.
Prosecutors told the jury on Monday what’s on the video is criminal.
It took a jury less than two hours of deliberations on Tuesday.
Broox was clearly relieved, even appearing to cry at one point after the verdict was read. He said afterward he’s going to be more careful in the future with other people’s children.
“This is literally the only kid I mentored that it went as far as corporal punishment, the only kid,” he said.

So I get in my car and am about to head to Mister house to get in that azzzzzz, Mr. Postman for this simple Pisces bish still calling me on some bull****. Do you know, I got halfway out my block and saw this bish sitting at the bottom of my street. (How I realized she was lying- he couldn’t be “with you right now” if you sitting on my street and he’s across town.)
Girl, I zoomed my car up next to her and wound the window down and looked her DEAD in her face. (Keep in mind, I done FOUGHT this bish before and she is TERRIFIED of me. TERRIFIED.)
Her eyes went
and she pulled off. And so did I. I had an Infiniti at the time, V6, she was driving a cheap azzed Sentra.
Do ya know…. I chased this bish all through Baltimore County for over an hour (11 PM at night) until she got scared and turned into a police station- (I guess she thought I was gonna spook and just leave her alone.) No baby, I turned into that police station right behind her, got out my car, ran up to her door as she ws sgetting out. She was trying to slam her door back close, and I was trying ot pull that bish THRU her fukkin window out the car.
Then like 10 cops came outta NOWHERE and told me to back away from the car.
I’ll never forget that sh*t! Neither will she. It was interesting explaining to my coworkers later why I wasn’t coming in to work because I had just got realized at 5 AM on my own recognizance.

You can get a GS-7 and just go up one grade each year until you hit the top.
I came in at an 11…. and I only have a Bachelors.

Sigh. It is surely a shame that a grown man is incapable of disagreeing with a black woman without name-calling. Nevertheless,the point I am making, and stand firmly behind, is that a man should always see himself as a protector of woman-period. However, when Black males are being told by the women in their lives that they should “beat a woman like a man” and have that reinforced (which is the correct way to spell reinforced) throughout his adult life, in my opinion reduces his ability to understand and appreciate his role in a relationship with a woman, therefore making it hard for him to be proud in saying that “if a woman hits you like she a man…”
No one is advocating for women to run around hurting men, but what I said was that what your mother PROUDLY taught you as a Black male is the main reason I try to avoid dating Black males who were raised by single mothers (as over 70% are) and I pay VERY close attention to how that mother believes her son should respond to and treat women.
