^^^ That was the headline on People.com last night during the telecast of the 84th Annual Oscar Awards last night.

I was shocked and taken aback when I read that gratuitous headline.

The article went on to mention how "completely comfortable" Viola Davis looked wearing her own "rich reddish crop" of hair offset by the "emerald-hued Vera Wang dress and glamorous green earrings." How shameful and embarrassing is it that in 2012 -- with a black president occupying the White House -- we as a human race make headlines for being "comfortable" wearing our own hair?

Offsetting her rich reddish crop with an emerald-hued Vera Wang gown and glamorous green earrings, Davis looked completely comfortable — and totally stunning — as she walked down the carpet to take her seat in the theater as a best actress nominee for The Help. Says the star of changing up her style, “It gives me flavor. It makes me feel like I’m spicing up my life a bit.”

Wow. She's spicing her life up by wearing her natural hair? We should all bow our heads in disgrace at how far we've come.

I stopped watching the Academy Awards almost 30 years ago when I found out that the narcissistic pageantry was rigged and almost everyone knew who was going to win.

Deadline.com's writer Nikke Finke wrote: "The Oscars suck every year! And this year the Oscars are gonna suck worse than ever! Because we all know who’s going to win the marquee categories without a single envelope being ripped open."

According to a loyal insider who begged for anonymity, up-and-coming singer Rita Ora is being positioned to steal Rihanna's spotlight. According to my source, who is well-connected on the west coast, Rihanna begged her former abusive boyfriend Chris Brown to jump on her "Birthday Cake" remix to divert attention away from Rita, who has also been in the studio with Brown.

They say Rihanna is very nervous and constantly looking over her shoulder to see how far Rita Ora is behind her.

Read the email from my informant after the break!

For the 2nd day in a row, American singer Rihanna, 24, was mobbed by the British media in London as she partied at Mahiki nightclub following the 2012 Brit Awards. What could cause the normally staid, composed British media to react to Rihanna in this way? Just 2 days ago, the "Birthday Cake" singer rode the subway, where she was virtually unrecognized just like a normal commoner.

Rihanna won the Best International Female Award at the 2012 Brit Awards held at the 02 Arena yesterday. She also performed a medley of her songs. Afterwards, Rihanna partied with a few friends, including Rob Kardashian (Khloe's brother), who sneaked into Mahiki nightclub to party with RiRi.

Rihanna reportedly left the Mahiki nightclub with a woman's lipstick stain on her neck. Through good detective work (and a few phone calls), we were able to match the lipstick stain on Robyn's neck to the woman standing directly behind her in the above pic. Everyone knows RiRi is a freak. But who is this chick that was freaking on her?

All this attention Rihanna is getting could be due to the fact that she is back together with her abusive boyfriend, troubled singer Chris Brown. Maybe the British media believes Rihanna will be beaten to within an inch of her life when she returns to America -- and they may never see her again?

Update:

According to loyal reader @MissFeven, the woman in the photo with Rihanna is Sarah Jane Crawford, a radio presenter in London.

Actress Octavia Spencer slipped and fell inside the the press room at the 43rd NAACP Image Awards at the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles, early this morning. Spencer fell as she approached the press with her NAACP image award. The award-winning 'The Help' actress landed on her back, but she was unhurt as her co-star, Viola Davis, helped her up.

Spencer, 40, has complained in the past about having to wear uncomfortable shapewear to awards shows to conceal her weight. On a recent visit to the 'Ellen Show,' Spencer told Ellen: "I triple-Spank. Which is not good. Spanx really, really work, but you don't need to overdo it."

Viola Davis won an Image Award for lead actress and Octavia Spencer won the supporting actress trophy for 'The Help'.

According to sources, troubled rapper Nicki Minaj, 29, and her longtime, abusive boyfriend/hypeman Safaree Samuel no longer live together. Samuel was conspicuously missing from Nicki's side at the 54th Annual Grammy Awards Sunday. Another man occupied Safaree's seat at Nicki's elbow in the star-studded audience.

Safaree's Twitter timeline didn't explain his absence. But a follower on Twitter tweeted that Safaree was bodily thrown out of the Staples Center by Grammy security for fighting.

Nicki was seen in NYC today where she promoted her new Viva Glam lipstick for MAC line on 'Good Morning America' this morning. Safaree was once again noticeably absent. This should come as good news for Nicki's fans, who fear Nicki may have sabotaged her career with that bizarre Satanic ritual performance during the Grammy telecast.

Outraged Catholics are calling for a boycott of CBS network following rapper Nicki Minaj's bizarre Grammy Awards performance last night.

The talentless Minaj, 29, arrived at the 54th Annual Grammy Awards dressed in a red satin Versace cape with a Caucasian man dressed as the Pope on her arm. Later in the telecast, Minaj acted like a woman possessed -- performing her single "Roman's Holiday" with bizarre satanic rituals which included levitation and an exorcism onstage before a shocked Grammy audience.

"Nicki’s disturbing performance at the 53rd annual Grammy Awards was a blatant attack on the Catholic church," wrote one outraged blogger.

If the stage was set as a Jewish Holocaust, or a black slavery set or some kind of mockery of Muhammad and Islam glorifying slave owners, there would be outrage. But because its the Catholic church that Minaj is mocking, somehow it’s allowed.

Other blogs are calling for the boycott of CBS and its sponsors, saying the Grammy's are increasingly relying on shock and vulgarity to attract more viewers to the show.

The Catholic League was also not amused by Minaj's performance.

“Perhaps the most vulgar was the sexual statement that showed a scantily clad female dancer stretching backwards while an altar boy knelt between her legs in prayer,” Bill Donohue, the president of the Catholic League told CBS New York.

“None of this was by accident, and all of it was approved [by] The Recording Academy, which puts on the Grammys. [Whether] Minaj is possessed is surely an open question, but what is not in doubt is the irresponsibility of The Recording Academy. Never would they allow an artist to insult Judaism or Islam,” Donohue said.

Singer Kelly Rowland lost points when she cheesed and grinned at the Clive Davis pre-Grammy dinner at the same hotel where Whitney Houston's body lay in rigor mortis Saturday. But she looked glamorous on Sunday wearing a nude Alberta Ferretti gown at the 54th Annual Grammy Awards.

Rihanna turned heads wearing a Giorgio Armani black silk custom gown which she accessorized with Christian Louboution PVC accented pumps and a gold clutch. Rihanna shared her big night with her father and her little brother.

Octavia Spencer should be on top of the world. Her many accomplishments over the past year make her the envy of her peers. But the 41-year-old actress, renowned for her portrayal of a sassy southern maid in 'The Help,' is worried, despite all the accolades.

"I am not healthy at this weight," said Spencer to the media assembled backstage at the Screen Actors Guild Awards, where she won a best supporting actress trophy.

"Any time you have too much around the middle, then there is a problem. [And] when you reach a certain weight, you are less valuable," she said, referring to Hollywood's strict physical standards.

Spencer says that Hollywood should be more accepting of actresses of different sizes, including those who are thin.

"I feel for the overly thin women as much as I do for the overweight women. It ... has to change," she said.

Ms. Spencer indicated that her problem may stem from the fact that she overeats when she's feeling down: "If more women ate, they would be a lot happier. Let me tell you, I am a lot grumpier when I don't eat."

This is what you’ve been waiting for all year: my BEST of 2011 Awards! Deciding which artists made an indelible impression on 2011 was very difficult (mainly because T.I. was locked up), but I was able to narrow down the choices and finally arrive at a winner in every category.

HAPPY NEW YEAR everybody! Be safe, eat healthy and drink wisely. We’ll see you back here on Monday!

In 2005, Cleveland Browns rookie Braylon Edwards made a promise to 100 eighth graders -- a promise that he would keep 6 years later.

Edwards announced that he'd give $10,000 in scholarships to 100 area eighth-graders if they could graduate high school with at least a 2.5 grade-point average and 15 hours' community service.

According to the LA Times, 79 of those students met the criteria and began their first year of college in campuses all across the country, including Harvard.

"Without this scholarship, I probably wouldn't be here," Bowling Green freshman David Gholston told ESPN's Rick Reilly.

Now, most people would think writing $790,000 in checks would be enough, but Edwards went one step further. In addition to the $10,000, he provided each of the students with a laptop computer.

"I'm supposed to give people a chance like I was given a chance," Edwards said.

But that's not the only amazing part of the season. Edwards is now a member of the San Francisco 49ers. His salary for this season? $1 million. In other words, he has donated almost his entire salary this season to help those 79 kids. Source

Jyoti Amge of India has been recognized by Guinness Book of World Records as the world's shortest woman. Jyoti was known as the world's shortest teenager until she turned 18 this year. Guinness said in a statement Jyoti has grown less than one centimetre (0.4 inch) in the last two years and will not grow any taller due to a form of dwarfism called achondroplasia.

The teenager stands at 24.7 inches tall - 2.76 inches shorter than the 22-year-old American who had held the title since September. She weighs about 10 lbs.

She receives a lot of support in her hometown of Nagpur, India, where she is treated like a minor celebrity. Jyoti lives with her parents and her 3 siblings. She attends school where she studies at a tiny desk made especially for her.

Jyoti burst into tears after receiving her plaque, and sharing a birthday cake with friends.

“I have put Nagpur on the world map. Now everyone will know where it is," she said.
