According to Showbiz411.com's Roger Friedman, the Met Ball -- which he described as an "assemblage of high (Oscar winners) and very low culture (Kardashians)" -- lost millions catering to Anna Wintour's hand picked celebrity friends.

Over the weekend I received an email from the woman who identified herself as entertainment executive Lynn Richardson. She categorically, but politely, denied being Lyte's lover. According to a report in The Wall Street Journal, the urban beauty products brand Carol's Daughter filed for bankruptcy protection from its creditors. Carol's Daughter founder Lisa Price disputes the report.

The Wall Street Journal reports that CD Stores LLC, formerly known as Carol’s Daughter Stores LLC, filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in Manhattan bankruptcy court.

Paula Deen Apology

In case you haven't heard, disgraced TV chef Paula Deen is back.

Deen, 67, is being given a second chance by corporate sponsors after she was unceremoniously dumped by the Food Network for being racially naive in these changing times.

"I've learned a lot," said Deen in a cover story of this week's People magazine.

"I feel like 'embattled' or 'disgraced' will always follow my name. It's like that black football player who recently came out," she said, referring to gay NFL draft prospect Michael Sam.

Deen continued: "He said, 'I just want to be known as a football player. I don't want to be known as a gay football player.' I know exactly what he's saying."
