The Cobb County Police Department is investigating a serious case of child abuse involving NBA star Dwight Howard.
Cobb County, where the Houston Rockets star resides during the off-season, is investigating a Dept. of Children and Families in Florida (DCF) report that Howard beat his 6-year-old son, Braylon, with a belt buckle.
According to a doctor who examined the DCF report, the evidence supports a case of child abuse against the 28-year-old Atlanta native.
Braylon’s mother, former reality TV star Royce Reed, is reportedly busy “shopping her baseless allegations” to Georgia law enforcement.
A Georgia law enforcement source tells gossip tabloid TMZ that “People who were not so forthcoming before today [Monday] have been.” The source adds detectives did several one-on-one interviews Monday and say the case “has now been raised to the top of the list.”
In a similar case involving a professional athlete, former Minnesota Vikings star running back Adrian Peterson, 29, was given a 1-year suspension without pay for viciously beating his 4-year-old son with a tree branch.
The earliest Peterson can be considered for reinstatement is April 15, 2015. Peterson, who learned the NFL’s decision on Monday, has 3 days to file an appeal.
As news of Howard’s child abuse investigation spread around the league, OKC Thunder star Kevin Durant called Howard a pu**y during a Rockets vs OKC NBA game on Sunday.
And a petition has been started by concerned citizens who are urging the Rockets to suspend Howard.
