Shannon Brown signs with the NY Knicks

The NY Knicks officially signed former Antonio Spurs guard Shannon Brown to one of two open roster sports today, Sports Illustrated reports.

There is speculation that Brown, 28, was brought in to fill the spot soon-to-be vacated by departing point guard Raymond Felton, whose legal troubles are mounting. Felton plans to be in the starting lineup for the Knicks in tonight's game against the defending NBA champs Miami Heat.

Adidas Signs Kanye West for $10 Million

The corporate sponsorships keep rolling in for troubled music producer Kanye West, despite his recent rant against corporate greed. Footwear giant Adidas announced a new sponsorship deal with West worth $10 million.

$10 million might not seem like a lot of money considering the hundreds of millions Adidas and NIKE throws at professional athletes for endorsements, but West will reportedly receive royalties on his products. The lack of royalties is the reason behind West's split with NIKE.

Jay Z releases a statement

Barney's has canceled the big holiday event that Jay Z hoped would cement his brand in the high end retailing world. The 45-year-old rap mogul had hoped to be center stage at the well-heeled Barney's-sponsored holiday bash to launch his Barney's Collection on Nov. 20.

But according to WWD.com, Barney's canceled the holiday party which was to be held at a private, off-site location.

Lonnie Johnson creator of Super Soaker water gun

Lonnie Johnson, the man who created the Super Soaker water gun, was awarded $73 million in unpaid royalties from giant toy maker Hasbro.

Johnson, who founded the Atlanta-based company behind the Super Soaker, filed a lawsuit against Hasbro for underpaid royalties in the sales of the wildly popular water gun, according to the AJC.com.
