Actress Ashley Taylor Gerren passed away in her sleep at 4:30 a.m. on Sunday, her family confirmed in a statement on Monday. She was 30.
Essence.com first reported the news of the actress's untimely death. She was previously known as Gerren Taylor.
Ashley became the youngest model ever signed by the runway division of LA Models. She was also signed with the Ford Modeling Agency and was booked by the designers Tracy Reese, Tommy Hilfiger and Betsey Johnson.

"I told you not to get that vxxxxxe ash f***," a commenter wrote under a photo of the "Baldwin Hills" star on Monday.
It isn't clear which vaccine Ashley received, but the Johnson & Johnson single injection vaccine has been blamed for multiple incidents of blood clots in the brain.
Tributes poured in on social media for the fresh-faced beauty who was known as the "It Girl."
Ray Cunningham, Ashley's co-star on BET's College Hill reality series in 2006, took to social media and wrote: "Just got the worst news. I hate it's on the internet already. RIP to my @BET fam, my babes Gerren (Baldwin Hills)."

Drew Sidora recalls the time when Nicki Minaj body-shamed her during an audition just months after her pregnancy.
The Real Housewives of Atlanta star recalled the humiliating moment during an appearance on her RHOA co-star Kandi Burruss' YouTube show Speak On It.
"So, I was up for an ABC family series, a Nicki Minaj pilot. And Nicki herself said that. She said I don't look how I looked when I played T-Boz," Drew explained.
"I was like, 'Nicki!' It was like, all these ABC execs around but I had gone through about five rounds. And she really, really liked me," says Drew.

After months of denials, NeNe Leakes finally confirmed that she was let go from the cast of Real Housewives of Atlanta after 12 seasons.
But Wendy Williams doesn't believe NeNe will go quietly. The talk show Diva is convinced NeNe will beg for her job back after the going gets rough.
Wendy, 56, resumed her talk show on Monday, and discussed NeNe's departure from RHOA.
"It's a money thing," said Wendy, who has an on-again-off-again friendship with NeNe, 52. Wendy is convinced NeNe is simply holding out for more money.
"She said she can't do it. She knows what she's worth and she can't be there. There's not enough filming time for her to make sense and there's not enough money in it for her to make sense."
Wendy said NeNe is too desperate for attention to stay away for long.
"NeNe will always be the queen bee and I don't believe she won't be back. I think she likes a lot of attention and I think Bravo likes to boil the pot and bring them back."
Wendy said she texted former RHOA executive producer Andy Cohen, and "he texted back and said [there will be] 'a lot of surprises this season.'"
"In conclusion, I don't believe anything about the NeNe thing," Wendy said.

She added: "I'm talking really screaming. I asked [the doctor] over and over if he was sure. He said, 'Yes, Rah, it's the results from your blood work. I'm sure.'"
Ali described losing her unborn child, named Sanna, at 20 months.
"When you're pregnant with your first child, it's a whole mental thing just knowing that you're going to deliver. Every day you count down and see [due date] getting closer and closer. At five months, I hadn't even come to the realization that it was going to happen. It was the worst experience of my life."
She explained the challenge of keeping her family safe during the pandemic.
"Despite constantly micromanaging my family to be sure they stay safe during this health crisis, there's absolutely nothing that has gotten my time or attention outside of preparing for our baby and keeping the energy around me pure and positive. I'm a living testament to the phrase, 'Don't sweat the small stuff.'"

Porsha Williams is cooling her heels in a Louisville jail cell. Williams was arrested while protesting the murder of Breonna Taylor by Louisville police officers in March.
The Real Housewives of Atlanta TV personality joined other protesters outside the home of Kentucky Attorney General Daniel Cameron in Louisville to demand justice for Breonna.
Taylor, an emergency medical worker, was fatally shot multiple times in her own home during a bungled drug raid by three plainclothes police officers.
One officer has since been fired, but protesters say that's not enough. They won't rest until all three officers are let go.

"She has always been fearless. You mess with her people, you mess with her," her sister Lauren Williams wrote on Instagram. "She takes the case of #breonnataylor personally and she's sacrificing work, time with her loved ones, and her comfort to make sure the offenders are held accountable for their actions.
"This is her passion, this is her purpose. God please protect them," she added.
Alyssa Milano hit back at critics who accused her of wearing blackface makeup in a video from 2013.
Fighting back tears in an interview, the 47-year-old Who's the Boss? actress and activist denied that she was pretending to be Black by wearing dark makeup the new unearthed video clip.
The anti-Trump star also took to social media to say she was parodying Nicole "Snooki" Polizzi from the reality TV show Jersey Shore (pictured).
"Hey, a–holes. The below picture is me parodying Jersey Shore and Snookie's tan," she tweeted on Tuesday, June 30. "Snookie's tan (she is a sweetheart by the way) is worthy of parodying as is [President Donald] Trump's 'tan.' So go f–k yourselves with your smear campaign."
She shared a video clip from a 2013 Funny or Die episode, during which Milano was transformed into the 32-year-old reality TV star.
Milano's skin was darkened and the final image was Photoshopped to imitate Polizzi's tan.

She gained instant fame as a cast member on MTV's popular Jersey Shore, where she was known for her obsession with sun tans and tanning products.
NeNe Leakes has been fired from Real Housewives of Atlanta, blogger B. Scott reports exclusively.
Sources tell lovebscott.com that NeNe has not been offered a contract to return to season 13 of the longest running Real Housewives franchise that she co-created.
B. Scott said it's not surprising that she's been let go. NeNe's insubordination on and off the set and ongoing friction between her and other RHOA cast members led directly to her termination.
Another cast member, Eva Marcille, announced her resignation from the show rather than face the humiliation of being fired.
NeNe's list of violations include:
1. Starting off season 12 suspended following her physical altercation with one of the cameramen in season 11.
2. Popping off on a producer and walking off set while filming in Greece — in addition to not appearing in other episodes.
3. Walked off set multiple times during the season 12 virtual reunion.
4. Demanded the termination of former Executive Producer Andy Cohen.
5. Made not-so-subtle threats to sue the network.
Social media reacted to NeNe's termination:
