My name is Gemina Stroud and I’m from Atlanta, Ga. I work in the sports industry and last year, I set out to start a sports marketing firm. I began a campaign to find clients. I met Marcus Stroud (no relation) at a day party that he was giving at a restaurant in Atlanta. We conversed about what I was trying to do, and we exchanged numbers. He said that he would allow me to work for him, if I could show him what I was capable of.
At the time, Ed Hardy/Christian Audigier was a hot brand. I contacted the reps there, and they sent me about $600 worth of merchandise in exchange for pics of Marcus Stroud wearing the gear, along with an autographed football.
I, in turn, mailed the specialty box to Marcus Stroud, and explained what he needed to do. I would call and text Marcus from time to time, in hopes of him keeping his word. He returned my phone call twice, saying that he would get me the pics as soon as training camp had ended. Well training camp ended, and I haven’t heard from Marcus since. He started to avoid my calls altogether. It has now been a year. For someone fresh in the business, this was not a good look for me.
I am a woman of my word, and I expected for Marcus to be a man of his. He treated me as if I were next to nothing, the way women are often treated in this industry. I wonder had I been a male, white male, in particular would the outcome have been the same. I know he can afford to buy whatever he likes, so he could’ve at least returned the merchandise. This is not the way I handle business, and being that I couldn’t get the matter resolved respectfully, I feel that he needs to be put on blast. He claims to be such a positive figure in the community, yet his acts are not Godly to his fellow (wo)man.

Celebs Out & About: Halle Berry and Her “Assistant” Take Nahla Shopping
Just a couple of weeks after staging a fake romance with her co-star, Olivier Martinez, actress Halle Berry is back home with her um, assistant, in LA. The couple, I mean, Halle and her “assistant” took Halle’s daughter shopping yesterday. The assistant refused paparazzi requests to have her photo taken. But that’s her in the pic below and on the left in most of the pics after the break.

Celebs Out & About: Rihanna, Mariah Carey, Ludacris
Rapper Ludacris and his beautiful fiancee Eudoxie were seen departing Reagan National Airport in Washington DC yesterday. Isn’t it cool that Luda and E. were carrying their own Louis Vuitton bags? By the way, I’m told that Eudoxie has put her medical studies on hold temporarily per Luda’s request. The African born, French speaking Eudoxie was a pre-med student at the University of Miami. She took her studies very seriously, but as Bishop Eddie Long said, a woman must be submissive to her man. Its not that Luda doesn’t trust her around those dope boys and ball players in Miami. But he isn’t crazy either. Luda still wants Eudoxie to be a doctor some day — just not right now because he misses her so. Awww. isn’t true love beautiful?

I don’t like pre-teen wunderkind Willow Smith as a club singer because I think she’s too young (9) for that kind of pressure. But no one can deny the kid has style! Does anyone else think that Willow, Angelina and Brads son Shiloh/John and Cher’s son Chazz have anything in common?
Jada Pinkett-Smith and her daughter Willow attended the Versace fashion show during Milan Fashion Week over the weekend. Willow is scheduled to shoot the music video for her annoying single “Whip My Hair” in a few days.

Common and Q-Tip had lunch at Bar Pitti in the West Village on Friday (Sept. 24). As far back as 2007 the duo had hinted about forming a super group dubbed ‘The Standard’, it was just announced they are back on track to get in the studio. Yay.

Morning Wood: David Beckham
It’s been a while since I served up some piping hawt Wood along with your morning coffee.
LA Galaxy superstar David Beckham removed his Galaxy soccer jersey and tossed it to a fan in the stands after his team lost 2-0 to the New York Red Bulls at the Home Depot Center in Carson, CA on Friday.
Then as he left the field, a fan taunted Beckham about his alleged romp in the sack with a $10,000-a-night call girl named Irma Nici, who appears on the cover of In Touch magazine.
“Stop with the prostitutes!” shouted the heckler. Beckham turned and yelled “Do you want to say that to my face?”
The cowardly fan quickly backed down, denying he said anything. But David wasn’t finished. He noticed the heckler had his team jersey on, which enraged him even further. “You got a Galaxy shirt on?,” David asked incredulously.
Beckham’s team of lawyers are scouring the earth for the Bosnian born call girl so they can serve her with a subpoena to appear in court. Beckham and his wife Victoria plan to make an example out of Nici by hitting her with a $25 million lawsuit!
Beckham wants the world to know that not all men cheat on their wives.

What do chris brown and Beyonce have in common? They’re both song thieves!
Troubled singer chris brown is in hot water for stealing the beat of another track for his own club single “Yeah 3x”.
Calvin Harris was stunned to hear the similarities between his single “I’m Not Alone” and brown’s club-tinged song off his upcoming “F.A.M.E.” (Forgiving All My Enemies) album.
Over the weekend, the Scottish musician took to his Twitter page to complain about brown hijacking his beat:
He has every right to be pissed: brown’s synthesized beat and Harris’ are nearly identical. Though the track was produced by a DJ, it behooves chris brown and his label to make sure the music is free and clear of samples or rights.
Harris plans to take legal action against brown and his record label.

On the Set: Rihanna Shoots ‘What’s My Name’ Music Video
Singer Rihanna wore this colorful but uninspiring getup to match her red clown wig on the set of her “What’s My Name” video over the weekend. While the pictures are cute, the real news is the falling out between Rihanna and her BFF former lover Melissa.
As loyal reader Eugenia points out, Melissa has been missing in action on the set of Rihanna’s new movie ‘Battleship’:

Long time reader, first time e-mailer (and I must say it’s quite exciting) but moving on… Knowing you Sandra, you would have already clued onto this but just in case… Are you as curious as I am as to where Melissa, Rihanna’s presumed BFF is these days? I haven’t seen her in any of the recent shots of Rihanna, not in Hawaii whilst she was shooting her “movie”, not at Vegas by the pool or at Kathy Perry’s Hens and certainly not at Matt’s recent Birthday bash.I’ve noticed that since Melissa’s disappearance, Rhianna’s fashion sense has fizzed… Case on point- Rihanna’s hair at the moment is not the business, her outfits (on and off stage) at the VMA’s were tragic and we’ve rarely seen photos of her out and about looking fly.. It makes me query the extent of Melissa’s influence on Rihanna? Is it possible that Melissa deserves a significant amount of credit for Rihanna’s rise as a fashionista?
I certainly believe so, I read an interview with Rihanna a while back (the name of the publication escapes me) in which she credits Melissa for teaching her how to push the envelope in terms of her fashion and general attitude.
Eugenia has a point. Rihanna benefited from Melissa’s sense of style. And she certainly seemed happier when Melissa was around.
