New Music: Rihanna – U Da One

Rihanna just leaked this new track “U Da One” off her upcoming album, Talk That Talk. Normally it takes me a few listens before I begin to warm up to Rihanna’s music. But “U Da One” has a nice beat that will make you wind your hips.

Drake ft. Rihanna – Take Care

*I guess I have to remind you bloggers again that the picture above of Rihanna and Drake is Photoshopped.*

Drake’s much anticipated album, Take Care, leaked over the weekend. The title cut, “Take Care”, featuring Rihanna it is something of a disappointment.

Drake tweeted a message pretending not to be aware that the album is all over the Internet. Or maybe his camp leaked it.

“I am not sure if the album leaked. But if it did thank god it doesn’t happen a month early anymore. Listen, enjoy it, buy it if you like it…and take care until next time.”

Meanwhile, Rihanna, who is recovered from her bout with alcohol poisoning in Sweden where the alcohol content of liquor is much more potent than in America, tweeted pics of herself and her staff choosing album song tracks for her upcoming album. If you’re into album track listing (I’m not sure why anyone cares about song names), the list is below the cut.

Mary J Blige – “Why” (radio rip) and “Mr. Wrong”

R&B Diva Mary J Blige continues her trend of throwing music into the wind and hoping something sticks. We love Mary but she hasn’t put out a resonating album since What’s The 411 (1992) and My Life (1994).

Since her early, crack-fueled glory days Mary’s music has been mostly hit and miss. It’s clear that she’s one artist who requires a lot of drama in her life to influence her music. Things must really be going well for her at home.

Mary’s latest efforts, “Why” (radio rip) and “Mr. Wrong” also miss the mark completely. Both tracks are off her new album My Life II: The Journey Continues.

“Why” features Rick Ross and “Mr. Wrong”, an updated version of Billy Paul’s 1972 hit “Me and Mrs. Jones”, features rap aficionado Drake. I mean, how can you go wrong with Drake on your track?

New Music: Bridget Kelly (Jay Z’s new artist)

Jay Z’s new artist, Bridget Kelly, is being referred to as an Alicia Keys clone. The artist joins Willow Smith and Alexis Jordan on Jay Z’s RocNation Records, and she follows in the footsteps of JZ protege, Rihanna.

Bridget’s voice is so reminiscent of Alicia Keys that she replaced Keys during Jay Z’s live performances of “Empire State of Mind”. But does the music industry need another LSLH Alicia Keys clone?

Kelly’s EP, titled Every Girl, dropped online today. The 1st single off the EP is “Seek & Destroy, written by The Dream and produced by Shea Taylor.

The track listing and download link for Every Girl are below.

Drake ft. Nicki Minaj – Make Me Proud

I LOVE this song! But I love just about everything Drake drops. According to YouHeardThatNew.com, Drizzy mentioned prior to the release that the song is for the ladies and was inspired by a conversation he had with a woman who felt he hasn’t made a song quite like “Best I Ever Had” in a while. The track was produced by the Toronto genius T-Minus.

A new song has leaked from R&B Diva Monica’s upcoming album, New Life, titled “Do It All Again”. The track is produced by Norwegian producers Stargate. According to Toya, the producers sampled the hell out of their Beyonce “Irreplaceable” track.

In the song, Mo regrets not going that extra mile to save a past relationship. New Life hits stores on November 29.
