Word in the Twitter/X streets is RCA Records dropped Saucy Santana from his recording contract.

Santana (born Rashad Spain) began his career as a makeup artist for Miami rap duo City Girls.

He started rapping in 2019, and RCA Records signed him in 2022 after he generated buzz with regional rap songs “Walk Em Like a Dog” (2019) and “Material Gworl” (2021).

Label executives saw dollar signs when the 30-year-old aspiring rapper made heterosexual men twerk in videos on social media.

He said at the time that a major label record deal could take his career to the next level.

“I feel like I didn’t have that complete backing with a major label,” Santana told Angela Yee. “I put in a lot of work, I worked really hard being an independent artist. But I feel like now, with that major backing, I can clear certain samples, I could get this radio sh*t going, I can get these bigger artists [to collaborate]. It’s up.”

However, that next level never materialized. Eventually, he was dropped by RCA.
